No man knows the day nor the hour that the end of the world will occur.
Are you fretful that today will be the end of this world as you know it? Some people are. Even if you aren’t apprehensive about this day can I offer a few words of encouragement?
No matter when the end comes if we all were to live each day as if it were our last it’s possible that this world would be a better place.
- Be kind to one another
- Respect each other
- Hug your love ones often
- Is someone important to you… tell them
- Don’t always be is such a hurry
- Enjoy today, while it is still today for soon it will be gone
Sadly today will be the last day for some; not because the world has ended, but because their time to leave this earth has come. They will not live to see another sunrise, or feel the warmth of it’s rays on their face. Rather than be concerned about when the end of the world comes, why not focus on where your soul will spend eternity.
So live each day of your life as best you can. Enjoy the small things around you, and please let go of anger and stress. It hurts you more than you know.
As I was sitting writing this post I happen to hear an old “Temptation song that was a hit back in the 1970’s (wow a life time ago). Many of you may have never heard the song so I copied and pasted it here (hope that’s not a crime). If you have the time please take a moment or two and read these lyrics. Truly there is nothing new under the sun.
People moving out, people moving in Why? Because of the color of their skin. Run, run, run but you sure can’t hide. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth; Vote for me and I’ll set you free. Rap on, brother, rap on
Well, the only person talking about love thy brother is the preacher. And it seems nobody’s interested in learning but the teacher. Segregation, determination, demonstration, integration. Aggravation, humiliation, obligation to my nation.
Ball of confusion Oh yeah, that’s what the world is today. Woo, hey, hey
The sale of pills are at an all time high. Young folks walking round with their heads in the sky. The cities ablaze in the summer time. And oh, the beat goes on.
Evolution, revolution, gun control, sound of soul. Shooting rockets to the moon, kids growing up too soon, Politicians say more taxes will solve everything. And the band played on So, round and around and around we go Where the world’s headed, said nobody knows Oh, great Googamooga Can’t you hear me talking to you?
Just a ball of confusion Oh yeah, that’s what the world is today Woo, hey, hey
Fear in the air, tension everywhere. Unemployment rising fast, the Beatles new record’s a gas. And the only safe place to live is on an Indian reservation. And the band played on
Eve of destruction, tax deduction, city inspectors, bill collectors Mod clothes in demand, population out of hand, suicide, too many bills Hippies moving to the hills, people all over the world are shouting ‘End the war’ and the band played on…
There are more lyrics, but I believe you get the point. This song was a hit in 1970 and the lyrics are still relevant today.
Get to know the Lord before the end does come. He loves and care for each of us.
And in closing I would like to say to those that have lost love one recently, whether in Oregon, Connecticut, or any other state, (here or over seas) my heart and my prayers are with you. I haven’t addressed this because I’ve been too numb. I can not imagine what the families and the town of Connecticut are going through.
May God bless you as you work through this time.
