MY SISTER’S LOVE FOR THE DESERT
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Is. 43:19 King James 2000
Watching my sister come to the desert and put her roots down deep was a joy to watch. Once settled in, it was all over but the shaking; I felt she was like… hmm how much adventure can I expose my family to. 
At the same time she and her husband desired to instill faith, family, and good work ethics into their children. Between our two families we have ten children; and I am sure if we had allowed them a vote they would have declared yard work illegal during their teenage years!
I think my sister could grow flowers and vegetables on the moon! 
Over the years I have watched as she took seedlings and cuttings and lovingly nurtured them into beautiful mature plants.
She and her husband enjoy sitting outside in the cool of the morning enjoying nature, the results of her labor, and each other.
Sometimes we may feel forgotten and all alone, as if we are on the backside of the desert. Beat down by the scorching sun and stifling heat (caused by situations and circumstances); just longing for a cup of water for our thirsty souls.
We get so down on ourselves we can’t seem to find beauty in hardly anything. Joy and happiness seem like things that only happen for other people.
Please know there is One who is concerned about our situations, circumstances, and our lives. Just as He promises to bring rivers to the desert places, He offers us living waters for our thirsty souls. “But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14 King James 2000
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we have a loving Heavenly Father that sees beauty in what some would say is the least of us.
We have but to accept His love.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ” John 3:16 KJ2000
